Ocean Park Inn UV Tables

Ocean Park Inn, located in San Diego, began a new renovation project in 2021, and contacted us for new lobby and dining hall table tops. Located on the beach, their renovation demanded a more open and sun-lit common area. This presented a unique challenge, as we knew almost all resins "yellow" in the sun-even the variety of high-quality table top resins that we use for our art- so we needed to develop a process to ensure our tables would survive in extended direct sunlight. Originally we declined the project until we could come up with a way to prevent UV discoloration. As we soon realized, there was no way to accelerate the testing required to simulate prolonged sun exposure, so we took the extra time to test different methods and treatments over several days and weeks, and observed how the color aged naturally. After seeing some promising results through creating a tough and resilient process, we were thrilled to deliver a product we knew would last for years, and a collection that would stand out in a beautiful new hotel.
